Professional Experience
In addition to experience providing individual therapy to adults, I have seven years of experience providing clinical expertise to combat systemic injustices.
I was the Behavioral Health Specialist at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, collaborating with the addiction medicine and psychiatric consult services. I have performed mental health assessments and provided expert testimony for the Office of the Public Defender. I have served at the Department of Juvenile Services, conducting psychosocial assessments and providing treatment recommendations. I have worked at The Maryland Mental Health Association as a community organizer and policy advocate at the Maryland State Legislator to promote equitable access to mental health care.
These experiences have enriched my understanding of the breadth of human experiences and perspectives, informing my non-judgmental therapeutic approach.

I believe that the meaning of life is to connect with others. Human connection is a bond forged through authentic interactions, the seeing of another’s beauty and being seen in return. Human connection can be a brief passing ‘Hello’ on the street, or a profound conversation of philosophy and stories, or the sense of community felt cheering for the Ravens. It is through human connection that we experience our most profound moments, and we find our purpose. Our extensive linguistic abilities attest to the significance of human-to-human interaction and collaborative creativity.
Conversely, social isolation and fear of social rejection leads to insidious, torturous thoughts and regrettable actions. In therapy, we recognize how our desire for human connection has impacted our thoughts and choices.
I would like to hear your story and to connect with you, human-to-human in therapy.

Cultural identity is dynamic, intersectional, and ever-evolving. Global cultures and identities are to be celebrated and respected. This includes all sexual identities, gender identities, races, religions, and backgrounds.
Systems of oppression are individual, institutional, and societal. It is devastatingly rooted in the fabric of American culture and history. These mechanism of oppression can affect a person’s experiences and mental health. Systemic barriers then lessen access to equitable mental health resources.
These values and beliefs inform my work and my life. I strive to utilize a culturally dynamic partnership mindset without limitations of an ethnocentric belief. We will engage in open discussions about culture, diverse perspectives, and the celebration of our unique experiences.

I strive to provide a sex positive approach. This emphasizes shame-free openness and empowerment regarding sexuality and sexual expression. Yes, it can be awkward to talk about sex with a new person, but I am here for it. Body positivity emphasizes enhancing your relationship with your body to love your body and appreciate all that it does, every dimple, wrinkle, and range of abilities.

I am an imperfect, ever evolving person. I hope that my client’s feel comfortable providing me with feedback. Through honest feedback, our working relationship can strengthen.
Outside of Work
Outside of work, my days are spent chasing after my 3-year-old daughter, antagonizing my spouse, and walking our senior dog. We like to find the hidden gems of Baltimore, like the Druid Hill Conservatory and the Arboretum.
I live for food, but I leave the cooking to those more skilled. The food scene in Baltimore is underrated and deserves a shout-out. Some favorite staple dishes are the Tiki Masala at Jasa Kabob, the vegan ribs from Land of Kush, the Sarah Roll from Naked Grill and the chocolate pastries at Ovenbird Bakery. Clients who enjoy baking know better than to share their recipes with me before lunch to avoid on-screen drooling.
When the house is finally quiet, I cherish reading Sci-Fi books and crafting. I hope you will share with me your suggestions for eateries, reads, and the treasures of Baltimore.
